From the Pampas to Patagonia

This is Argentina in full. Beginning in the grand European boulevards of Buenos Aires — tango shows, antique markets, and the haunting beauty of Recoleta Cemetery — before flying south to the raw, end-of-the-world landscapes of Patagonia.

At Estancia Nibepo Aike you'll ride horseback through open Patagonian countryside, come face to face with the Perito Moreno Glacier, and hike to the iconic Laguna de los Tres beneath the jagged peaks of Fitz Roy. This is wilderness at its most dramatic.

From Patagonia, we head to Mendoza — Argentina's wine heartland — for a full day exploring the vineyards of the Valle de Uco, with gourmet lunches, Malbec tastings and Andean views. The trip ends with a final evening in the vibrant Palermo neighbourhood of Buenos Aires.

Hosted by Alfie with a group of just 8 guests, this is a journey that balances adventure, culture and luxury — designed to feel effortless and utterly unforgettable. This trip will change the way you see the world.

Luxury Meets Wilderness

City culture, open skies, glacial silence, and the finest wines in the world — all within one extraordinary journey.

Buenos Aires

Begin in one of the world's great cities. Grand architecture, late-night dinners, milongas and markets. Buenos Aires rewards those who linger — and Alfie knows exactly where to take you.

Patagonia

The world feels enormous here. Glaciers that groan and calve. Trails that lead to end-of-the-world views. Estancia life, horseback rides and the kind of silence you only find at the edge of civilisation.

El Chaltén

Patagonia's trekking capital, with Fitz Roy looming above the village. Days of long hikes, mountain light and the deep satisfaction of earning your views. Evenings by the fire, perfectly earned.

Mendoza

Swap mountains for vines. Argentina's wine country in spring is stunning — the Andes as your backdrop, glasses of Malbec in hand, folklore echoing through the hills at night. A glorious way to end.

We have just returned from the most epic adventure in Costa Rica led by Alfie Laurence. We had a blast — learnt to surf, whooshed down white water rapids, rode for the first time in 50 years, kayaked, visited waterfalls, hunted for elusive, mythical birds and of course ate the best food ever. Alfie's attention to detail was extraordinary. Anyone booking one of his tours is in for a treat.

I've been on a lot of trips, but I have never had anyone as hard-working, charming, efficient and organised as Alfie. He is fully present from the moment he wakes up until we all go to bed.

You should be comfortable with long days on your feet and some uphill walking. All other days have more manageable options and Alfie will always provide alternatives for those who prefer a gentler pace. You don't need to be a seasoned hiker — but some preparation beforehand is recommended.

November is an excellent time to visit. It's spring in Patagonia — the trails are opening up, the weather is improving and the landscapes are at their most dramatic before the summer crowds arrive. In Mendoza, November brings warm days and the vineyards are lush and green. Buenos Aires is pleasant year-round but November is particularly lovely.
